A Franklin County native, I'm married to Matt, we have two wonderful children. As co-owners of Revinylized Creations and Decor, my journey began a newfound passion for community involvement, especially for the community we are raising our family in. I am dedicated to fostering partnerships and championing growth initiatives for small businesses investing and growing our community.
Veronda Mourning has lived in Ottawa for 14 years and have owned the Ottawa Jazzercise center for 14 years as well! She has two teenage boys who attend Ottawa High School and participate in various activities through the school. She is excited to see the future of our Main Street.
Jeff is the owner of Ottawa’s bicycle shop, Ottawa Bike and Trail. Jeff and his wife, Leigh Ann, opened the shop in October of 2018. As the owner of the bike shop, Jeff has fostered a strong and growing community of cyclists in the area and continues to promote Ottawa as the cycling hub of Kansas. Prior to opening the shop, Jeff worked for 28 years as a software development and product manager in the financial services industry. Before joining the Main Street Board, Jeff served one term on the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Board.
As a third-generation barber, Riley brings over seven years of expertise and passion to the barbering industry. As the proud owner of Browning Barbering, Riley has cultivated a welcoming and inclusive space where clients feel not only groomed but valued. Outside the barber's chair, Riley is deeply involved in community development. Serving on the Ottawa Main Street Association Board and Promotions Committee, he is dedicated to revitalizing local businesses and fostering a vibrant community atmosphere. In addition to his professional pursuits, Riley finds fulfillment in his roles as a devoted husband and father. Balancing his business responsibilities with family life, he strives to set an example of dedication and integrity for his children. With a commitment to excellence and a heart for community, Riley continues to make a positive impact both within his shop and throughout Ottawa.
Cathy Skeet has been an avid collector of items for most of her life. She and her late husband, Larry, enjoyed attending estate sales together. As they retired from their respective careers, Cathy was able to realize her dream of opening an antique store and in July 2010 they were able to open Our House Runneth Over Antiques at 120 S. Main. The store offers antiques, holiday items, primitives and vintage clothing. OHROA is open from 12-5 every Wednesday-Saturday.
Brian Silcott was appointed to the position of City Manager of Ottawa, KS, on April 1, 2023, bringing more than 21 years of experience as a city manager and 30 years of public service. A native and lifelong Kansan, he previously served the citizens of Goddard (2008-2023), Osage City (2006-2008), and Sterling (2002-2006) serving as city manager. Silcott also served the citizens of Wichita as a firefighter, neighborhood assistant, and budget analyst.
