Description
Learn about the trains that carried orphan children out of the New York city area into the mid-west and west. This exhibit will teach about the reasons for the trains and follow some of the stories of the orphans that were placed into new homes and new lives. We also have a "Letters of an Orphan " exhibit featuring letters ad artifacts of a orphan of the orphan trains that is related to a local family. 

The traveling exhibit by the National Orphan Train Complex will be on view at Ottawa Library Nov. 18 - Dec. 27 during library hours. M - Th 9-8pm, Fri 9-5pm and Sat 9-1pm(except when closed for Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 28, 29 and Christmas holiday Dec. 24,25)
