Make a Clay Tray
Description
Unearth a Story in a piece of clay art! We will create a hand-built tray made of clay in this workshop. Online Registration will open on May 21st for the workshop, registration is mandatory. You must be able to attend both classes in order to have your tray glazed. We allow a limited number of students due to space and time. This is a class for adults, it is part of Adult Summer Reading. Class 1 is June 11 from 5:30-7:30pm and Class 2 is glazing and is Thursday, June 25th from 5:30-8:30pm. You might finish earlier each day, art classes take time so we have carved out time to be creative.
Cheryl Swearingen will lead the class. The tray will have a nature theme and once constructed it will have a drying time before it is kiln fired. Once it is fired to bisque ware we will have another class (Thursday June 25 from 5:30-8:30 pm) to clean up the piece and glaze it with food safe glazes. It will then be fired. We will: supply a variety of stamps and rollers to use and the ability to make a one of a kind piece. Watch for registration: it will be online, available for registration May 21st, on our website. One e-mail per registration only. Meet for class at 204 S Hickory St.
